But seriously, though--the plot was like...exactly the same as The Day After Tomorrow (yes, I know they had the same director). Heck--even the subplot was exactly the same. Broken family includes a son that hates his father. Only this time around add in a sister and a new boyfriend for mom. But no worries--the boyfriend (who the son likes more than his own father) dies by the end of the movie and mom and dad get back together.
WTF, dude? He flies them halfway across the globe and nobody even cares when he gets crushed to death by interlocking gears? At least now I know why in the trailer one character was being referred to as "honey" and the other as "dad." That confused the heck out of me.
The dialogue was lame, the acting was...well...also bad, but at least some of the humor was actually funny. Kinda corny, but funny. I guess--if nothing else--it was amusing to see that people can still be jerks to each other (in a funny way) while they're trying to outrun the apocalypse.
I'm really tired. All-in-all I give this movie...
HECK! I give it nothing! I gave up a good night's sleep for this movie! Give me my three hours back Roland Emmerich!
