Oka, so this is basically just something I whipped up in the midst of a brainstorm. I'm working on the layouts for future pages, but since they'll be drawn on paper too big for my scanner to handle, most likely, don't expect to see them for some time. But yeah. Probably can't tell what's going on, but I'm not going to tell you. You'll figure it out later. Just know that this is all mine.
Materials:
pencil, india ink, nib pen, bamboo brush, microns, digital tones
Hmmm there slight white lines around your original lineart... Do you have photoshop by any chance? I can show you how to lift the black off the paper and make it it's own, nice clean layer. It would REALLY help with the overall quality of your work.
Otherwise, I like the imagey ^-^
Yeah, I've got photoshop, that's what I did the toning in. I know how to life the black off the paper already, but thanks for offering. Only reason I think I didn't do it is because I scanned it in as a bitmap since I wanted the pure black and all. Although now that I think about it, I still could have pulled the black up. I really must not have been thinking last night. Then again, who can think when the neighborhood kids are throwing fireworks at your house at three in the morning. -____-
Anyhow, I've got the original scanned in bitmap still, so if I ever find the patience I may just retone it and lift the black off in that one. Thanks a lot for pointing that out to me, I probably wouldn't have noticed. ^^
The comment is much appreciated.
Hey sure, no problem. ^-^
Also, something I prefer to do, for quality reasons, is I scan it regularly in color, then I set the mode to greyscale. So that it's all black and white, then I mess with the brightness and contrast a little to get the lines a little cleaner. I find that scanning in black and white just makes it look weird...
(hehe these are all things I wish I had known years ago.. but I know them now, so I pass them on ^-^)
^^
Yes, yes. I like me some Chobits as well. Though my poor manga and imported dvds have not been viewed in a good while.
A watch, eh? Much appreciated. ^^
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
